Diligence: Master Key To Greatness

 Main Text:               Proverbs 22:29

What is diligence?

Diligence can simply be defined as strong desire or determination to perform a task to achieve the best result. It could also be described as the quality of being in accord with the dictates of conscience to achieve positive result.  Our God is diligent in His work by creating both the heaven and the earth in six (6) days and rested on the seventh day. Despite the enormous work before Him, He was able to do all He wanted in just six (6) days because of His diligence.

Diligence shows one’s capability way of handling job, development, and issues in order to achieve results.  No wonder the Bible made us to understand in the main text of this discussion (Proverbs 22:29) that “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” This means that anyone who is focused, determined and dedicated will succeed in whatever he or she does. An ambitious person will become great and stand out among his peers as a result of his or her diligence in his or her profession or ministry. In the secular world, human are being rewarded for diligence and hard-work in a work place. This encourages other members of staff in a work place to become diligent and more committed to their job so as to get reward at the end.

God’s Vineyard
God Himself usually rewards His diligent, obedient and dedicated children accordingly. The Bible made us to understand in the book of Hebrews 11:6 which states that “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
Also in Proverbs 8:17, it is an act of diligence that will make someone wakes up at the early hours to worship and pray to God while some are still sleeping. The Bible passages made us to understand that anyone who seeks God diligently will surely get a great reward from God. This shows the importance of diligence with God.

I will quickly mention few people in the scriptures who diligently seek God and achieved greatness at the end.

Isaac - In Genesis 26:12, it states that Isaac sowed in the land, and received a hundredfold in the same year. This comes as a result of diligence of Isaac in his farming profession. A farmer, who cleared, tilled and ploughed a land, then plant seeds and failed to look after the seeds he has planted will not be able to reap any seed at the end of the season or year simply because he did not come back to remove weds that will hinder the growth of seeds he has planted.

In Isaac case, after planting, he came back to remove weeds in his farm so as to allow the seeds he has planted grow well. By so doing, God bless the work of Isaac and was able to reap hundredfold of what he has planted in that land as a result of God’s blessings for his diligence in his farming profession.

Joshua – He was able to succeed Prophet Moses as a result of his diligent service to God. It was God who discovered Joshua by Himself not Moses. This made him to succeed in leading the children of Israelite in the right direction and he was able to achieve greatness during his tenure as a leader.

Prophet Elijah – Elijah was able to stand before the Baal’s prophets and proved to them that there’s a God in heave that answers by fire. Elijah’s diligence made him to stand firm and proclaim the God he served before the people and God magnified Himself before them all. He was a great prophet of his time because of his boldness and diligence to the service of God.

Daniel – He defiled the King’s order and serves His creator openly despite king’s order that everyone should bow for the graven image at a particular time of the day. He was thrown into the Lion’s den, yet he didn’t exercise any fear because of his diligence service to God. He believes God will intervene swiftly and God actually proved Himself beyond Daniel’s imagination. Daniel achieved greatness at the end of it all (Daniel 6: 7-24).

Apostle Paul – As a result of Paul’s diligence in God’s vineyard, he was able to write fourteen (14) books out of the twenty-seven (27) books in the new testaments. As a result of his diligence in God’s vineyard, one can say the Apostle Paul was the greatest among the apostles in his time.

In conclusion, a genuine child of God (Christian) must be diligent in his or her service to God. Everything we do must be done with fear of God in our hearts. We must be diligent, focused, and dedicated in all we do for God.  Also, the Pastor should be diligent in their service to God so as to achieve greatness in their ministry in God’s vineyard or any chosen career or profession respectively.

The most important things in life are our diligence and obedience service to the Almighty God, because He’s the ultimate rewarder of our service in His vineyard as stated in Hebrews 11:6.

I pray God to grant every one of us the spirit of diligence to do great exploit in our service to Him to become great in life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ – Amen.

Divine Expansion or Enlargement

Division expansion is an act of increasing something particularly in size, quantity, volume or scope by God. This can only be done by God because it goes beyond human comprehension or ability. If a man or woman encounters God’s expansion or enlargement, such person’s life will witness increase in business, finances, assets, and success in every areas of life.

Text: Genesis 1:26-28, made us to understand that God wanted His children to increase, multiply and have dominion over all other creatures. It is the will of the Almighty God for human to multiply on earth especially in child bearing but one must give birth to children one can cater for.

Secrets of divine expansion or enlargement

-         Hardwork - It is only God that can expand one’s business, finance or coast as a result of His infinite power to provide for all human He had created. He displayed His power when He blesses Isaac when he sowed in land Genesis 26:12. He sowed in the land because Isaac was industrious, hardworking and consistent.

-         God make the poor to become rich. In book of Proverbs 10:22, it says “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.This made us to understand that only God can make anyone become rich with peace of mind added to it.

-         Diligence – Anyone who is diligent in his or her work or business shall become rich or successful through God’s blessing. God is happy with a diligent man or woman. This was made known to us in Proverbs 10:4, it reads “He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.” This shows that God doesn’t support lazy people but loves those who are diligent in their chosen career or profession.

-         Prayer – For anyone to witness divine expansion, such person must be prayerful. Prayer is a tool to make request from the Almighty God when we are in need or desire something good. The Bible made us to understand that before any prayer request can be answered by God; such prayer request must be from a righteous child of God. In other words, God doesn’t recognize or accept the prayer of anyone who refuses to repent from his or her sin. God loves a sinner but He hates the sin in his or her life. In Proverbs 15:29, it says “The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.” Also, in John 9:31 it says that God doesn’t listen to an unrepentant sinner. “Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

In conclusion, for anyone on earth to enjoy divine expansion or enlargement, such person must be in line with God. He or she must be ready to live a life free of sin and must be obedient to God’s instructions and commandments. Such person will enjoy unlimited divine expansion or enlargement from God with other benefits which includes unmerited favor, goodness, sound health, long life, greatness and lots more from God our creator.
